His lap top is safe and secure and it has been very easy for him to bring it along with us on road trips and vacations where we traveled by air. Langhorne This bag lasted me about 2 months before one of the straps started coming out of it's stitching, and I don't mean a little. It's too bad because otherwise I really liked this case, but the manufacturer decided saving a few pennies was worth more than extra stitching where it was needed most. By KestrelSong27 I got the light blue 13" neoprene case, and I am very impressed both with the product and the seller! I'd like to get a case in every color! Because my official computer case is very big and heavy (especially for walking around a college campus), I tried carrying my laptop in a messenger bag. But it was only a week or so before I noticed scratches on the outside of my computer because it was bumping up against pens, pencils, textbooks, folders, and even a stapler in the bag. In addition to my concerns about my laptop's appearance, I was also concerned that it could be easily seen and stolen from my bag. I started my lengthy search for a laptop sleeve and ran up against more problems because very few sellers offer sleeves to perfectly fit a 13" laptop. The going price for those I found was around $25-$30, which is out of my price range. Then I found this seller's Amazon site, saw the exciting array of colors and designs, and was floored at the inexpensive price. I ordered immediately, and my case arrived in 2-3 days with regular shipping. The product was exactly as advertised, and I couldn't be happier with it if it made me coffee in the morning! Not the same as the original, very dissapointed By Doug Andriuk I've had the kensington contour roller for about 3 years. We've been everywhere together. 83 countries in fact. I've been very impressed with this bag. My old bag is a six star bag. Unfortunately, the wheels wore out and some of the stitching was starting to come apart. I've loved this bag, so choosing a new one wasn't going to be a problem. I ordered the 'exact' same bag from amazon. The 'new' contour roller is a cheap knock off of the old bag. I'm so disappointed. The pictures are all of the old bag. First, the zipper tags are some cheap little metal tabs, unlike the originals that were a neat two piece tab. The material is different, to be blunt, it's cheap, coarse nylon. The older bag had a softer feel, and the use of a simulated leather in key places like around the top handles. The leather has been removed from the top of the bag. Several of the little interior pockets have been removed, these were great for little things like pen drives. The zipped laptop sleeve is no longer removable. The bag smells like 'China'. If you have ever been to China you know what I'm talking about. It has a 'tar/oil' smell. I can smell it now as the bag sits beneath my desk. Kensington, what happened? This was probably the best rolling laptop bag on the market, now it is a cheap knock off of itself. Top notch for Uber Travelers By domeboy I'm a consultant and I spend quite a bit of time banging around between airplanes, rental cars and in and out of buildings. I have no less than 12 different laptop bags at home, from rollers to backpacks and over the shoulders. As you can tell, I have been searching for the right one. I recently bought this one due to the nice looking lightweight handle. Most roller bags look like roller bags. This one looks like a larger over the shoulder bag that has rollers. And that's exactly what it turned out to be. In fact, I just returned from a vacation where I hade both a Dell 700m and an Apple 12" PB in the same compartment, along with several other gadgets, accessories and files. Let's just say it was a working vacaion. It handled it all without a wimper. I was able to carry the bag when need be, roll it through airports and even tuck it UNDER the front seat on 4 different flights. I'm very impressed. Enough so that I ordered the larger overnighter version and the small shuttle for the quick trips. Normally, I'm not a huge fan of Kensington stuff but they sure got this right. Just make sure you look around a bit and get the right pricing. Update: I agree with other reviewers. I recently bought another one of these and the bag has changed. It is still a pretty good bag but not the top notch, virtually perfect bag that I originally bought in 2005 and still have (the above review). On the newer bag, which I bought for my wife, I added Zipquix zipper pulls to make up for the simple, small and slippery metal tabs they now use. I'm now looking on Ebay hoping to score an old style bag for a backup to mine, which is still holding up pretty darn well. I'm not sure I would not recommend the new bag. Good Value, Snug fit By Tessera * Fits the new MacBook Pro 13" too (only difference is the laptop "lock" notch near the CD drive is covered.) * Fits snugly with a slight bit of padding, so you can put your laptop in a backpack or something without scratching it. The case meets very well when the laptop is closed. * The Apple logo isn't visible (fairly minor) and the sleep light isn't visible. All other ports are easy to access. * When the screen is 100% tilted back (I don't really tilt my screen this far), it will seal of the rear fan port as the case meets. The rear of the laptop isn't actually covered by the case to allow venting. * It has a nice, soft feel to it that I like better than a plastic shell. The inside is lined as well. * Under $30 seems like a great value for this. It has a nice look (black matches the aluminum style). * I would order this same product again if I needed another. Dulak Just got my new 13" MBP last week and I had already put a small scratch in the bottom aluminum cover :grr: from gentle normal useage. So I immediately set out to find a shell cover. I was never a fan of plastic covers (clear or otherwise) so I went in search of a leather cover at "any" price point (I also own a Vaja leather cover for my iPhone). There are plenty of high priced options that I'm sure would be "worth" it, but for $25 this cover is excellent choice! Even for $50 I'd still consider it money well spent especially compared to some of the designer MBP leather covers/cases that can run $100-$300! As others have noted, this case fits nice and snug. When closed pretty much everything is covered except for the ports and CD slot on the sides. The leather is thin (but that is to be expected at this price point) but has a very nice, smooth grained texture with a subtle Macally logo embossed on the LCD cover. Also, both the top and bottom do have some padding built into them between the leather and the plastic skeleton inside which is a nice touch and the inside has a soft faux suede insert to not scatch up the laptop. The only real cons of this cover is that it covers up the sleep LED indicator on the front edge and a cutout for the glowing Mac logo would have been nice (if you going for the mac snob look, LOL). Otherwise, this cover stealths your Mac a bit by being largely non-descript on the outside. Finally as others have noted, the case does close the back side if you tilt the LCD as far back as it will go, however if you look down at the hinge with the LCD open you can still see the vents so they can still blow out the top of the hinge. Not ideal, but the vents aren't completely closed off. This shell case is a definite winner, I'd highly recommend it and would buy one again. The few cons noted are easily overcome by the value of this case and for $25 it really can't be beat. It's unique, innovative, bold, and comes in more than one color. After all, how many slings actually hold a laptop - safely, comfortably, and securely? Aside from this one ... I know of none. Use it in the city, on a hike (hey, they have wireless at campgrounds now), on your bike, on rollerblades, on your Harley (it totally works with the whole biker, bad boy look) ... the possibilities are endless. It is a "sleeve" meaning that you won't have space to put much more in than a few files and your laptop/cords/accessories. It is very comfortable to wear and the weight distributes nicely on the padded strap. I ended up returning the item however due to the fabric. I purchased the white one, and the fabric had this strange space-age sheen to it that made the bag look cheap. The quality of the bag and material is good, I just couldn't get past the way it looked. It's unique, innovative, bold, and comes in more than one color. After all, how many slings actually hold a laptop - safely, comfortably, and securely? Aside from this one ... I know of none. Use it in the city, on a hike (hey, they have wireless at campgrounds now), on your bike, on rollerblades, on your Harley (it totally works with the whole biker, bad boy look) ... the possibilities are endless. It is a "sleeve" meaning that you won't have space to put much more in than a few files and your laptop/cords/accessories. Perez My wife decided to go on an online shopping spree this past weekend, she bought a couple of cases for her MacBook Air but she's not the type of person to write reviews on products, but since I've gotten great help from reviews that I have read in the past, I decided to review this case as well as other cases I recently bought. This sleeve has a very simple but beautiful design, it has two zipper heads that you can split when opening the sleeve, it's super thin and perfectly made for the Mac Air. The extra stiching (across the front and back of the sleeve) gives it a very different look from other cases I've seen before, it also keeps the padding in place, which gives it a strong feel when holding it with the notebook inside. One thing I notice was that it is advertised as Sumac brand but I noticed that the zipper heads have the "oO" logo on them which makes this sleeve a KroO brand, in my peronal opinion, that makes this case even better since I'm a big follower of the KroO brand (don't beleive me? check my other reviews) Now the only problem I see that some people will find with this sleeve is that it has no extra compartments, but like I told my wife, one of the reasons why you bought the Mac Air in the first place was because of the thin design, Why bulk it up with an extra thick case full of compartments that you probably wont even use? The case is stiff, clunky, taskes up a lot of room (why have a macbook air if the case takes up as much room as a regular sized laptop), ill fitting (there is way too much room in the case for a macbook air), and not very protective (there is no padding where the zipper is, so the edges of the computer are completely unprotected). Since this case was such a poor fit for the macbook air, I ended up ordering an "Incase" 2010 macbook air case (zipper-less black neoprene sleeve with white fleece inside). It is designed to carry a laptop, a couple spiral notebooks and maybe a 1" binder. This does not carry your books for all 4 periods, and makes no claim to do such. For me, I wanted a compact pack which I could justify carrying only my laptop in (without the excess material for my laptop to slosh around in when empty). The pockets are appropriately numerous and likewise designed to fit your very specific laptop accessory needs. Best features: very robust laptop compartment keeps a notebook very safe; ergonomic shoulder straps (there are 2 of them = not metro!) and mesh back padding (minimal back sweat!); looks pretty, in a not-at-all-metro kind of way (which is important). This the perfect laptop bag. If you are looking for the perfect laptop + textbook bag, I think it also comes in a larger model for that reason. By calluna13 After days of searching for the perfect bag to carry my camera equipment and computer in while being comfortable as possible and still retaining carry-on abilities while flying, I settled on this one. Actually, I had purchased a Lowepro 180AW, but it was nowhere near large enough. I also wanted something that didn't have a waste or chest strap since I am not exactly a tiny woman. I'm about a US size 18. As I unloaded this backpack, I was impressed with it's overall quality, appearance, and size. I unzipped and rezipped all the pockets to check out the zippers. I played around with it a little, then decided it was time to see what it could hold. I started by loading my Canon 7D body with 18-135mm lens and hood attached. So far so good. Then I added my other two lenses, a basic Canon 75-300mm lens and a Tokina very wide angle lens with reversed hood. The Canon lens fit fine after adjusting the velcro separators. The Tokina had to be squeezed in there, which makes me nervous. I proceeded anyhow with my camera chargers, lens filters, and 430 flash. The flash had to be bend at a 90 degree angle to fit or that bag would not have closed at this point. I also squeezed in a point and shoot in it's case. I ended up having to put the wires and all in the upper compartment, but other than my lens cleaning kit, they all fit behind the mesh wall in there. Lastly, I loaded my 13" Macbook into the laptop slot, zipped it all up, and put it on my back. This backpack has ample room for strap adjusting. So, I am very pleased that it is made for people of all sizes, and in fact, I didn't even need the straps halfway down, so it had a lot of room to grow. While the computer was inside, this back was not exactly comfortable. It also had a tendency to want to sit on my butt. I don't have a "shelf" booty, but it would probably be a terrible idea to use this bag if you have one. I took my Macbook out, and tried it on again. Much better! It felt comfortable enough for what I need it for. If you are an avid hiker, you may prefer a bag with at least a chest strap, and possible a waste strap as well. Also, there is no place for my tripod, so I will have to tote that around in it's own bag, which is a bit disappointing. If your computer is larger than my 13" Macbook, you may have a hard time fitting it in this bag too, so keep that in mind. Overall, the bag has a nice appearance and will serve it's purpose. I feared a larger bag would have not made the carry-on requirements, but I kind of wish I would have purchased one anyhow. I can input my Nikon D5000 with Nikon 12-24 lens mounted, two prime lens, a sigma 50-200 lens and a SB-600 flashlight easily in the camera compartment. I still can input plenty of personal stuff in the upper compartment. For the laptop space, it can fit my X201 Table mounted with a 8 cell huge battery. I found that the Lenovo X201 Tablet with a 8 cell thick battery is normally too big for many camera backpack declared to fit 13" or even 14" laptop because it is way too wide. Very Low Quality and Poor Design By Nate A. Archibald I purchased this item for my macbook pro to replace an old Incase bag I had used for 3 1/2 years which was just getting dirty. This particular product looks great but when you inspect it closer you realize how cheap the construction is and what a flawed product it is as a means for holding and transporting a very expensive laptop. The first thing that happened when I took it out of the plastic wrap was to try the handle on the side of the bag. The handle broke before I could even put a laptop into it (thank goodness I didn't have my laptop in it at the time). The padding inside the bag is very minimal and about half as thick as my Incase bag. The handle which broke was not stitched to the bag but rather held with a metal pin and plastic end that fell apart. Again to reference my Incase bag, the handles on that bag were both stitched for durability. So again, this bag looks great especially up close but it is cheaply made and not suitable for an expensive laptop. I would maybe consider putting a small pizza inside of it to keep warm but then again I would hate to have the handle break and ruin a perfectly good pizza. One Half Of A Great Sleeve By micpoc First, the good: the Booq Vyper has great, stiff outer covering that should be pretty impervious to most external forces. The zipper arrangement is also ideal, as it allows for side removal if you keep the sleeve in a vertical bag, and will act as cover for use outside a bag. Now, the bad: the internal padding provided by the Vyper is laughable. In this price range, it is not at all unreasonable to expect, at the very least, thicker padding, if not memory foam... and why anyone would use anything other than memory foam at this point in time escapes me. These are very expensive machines we're carrying around, and to provide nothing other than thin foam for padding is ridiculous. Further, if you've using a newer unibody Macbook Pro, this sleeve is too big, which allows the laptop to slide around in the case. This might not be so bad if it was a memory foam lining, but as it is, it is insufficient. I returned mine immediately and purchased another sleeve. 5 of 6 people found the following review helpful. By Bunga Back when I bought my first Macbook Pro around 2008 I spent way more time than I should have shopping around for a sleeve. My criteria being it had to be as protective as possible, without being excessively bulky. After reading up reviews on every sleeve available at that time, I ended up with the Vyper M2. With the Vyper I have no qualms throwing the laptop in the trunk of my car, in a loose backpack, packing it on my motorcycle luggage for an extended trip, etc. etc.. Bottom line, I have virtually no fears of damaging the laptop within reasonable use and abuse, that says a lot for someone as needlessly paranoid as me. The sleeve is more than sturdy enough to protect your purchase through day in day out use, it would take a pretty good hit to damage the laptop through the sleeve. Further, the sleeve is barely larger than the typical flimsy sleeves that everyone else sells that do nothing to protect your laptop. Sadly, that first MBP was stolen with the sleeve this past summer, naturally I bought another MBP and started searching again for a sleeve. To my surprise, in my eyes the Vyper sleeve is still far and away the best sleeve that offers some protection. After six months of daily use my M3 still looks the same as the day I bought it, no surprise as the M2 before it looked brand new after two years as well.
