Culhane I bought this because I wanted a protective, stretchy, neoprene sleeve for my 15" MacBook Pro, but I also wanted a case that could hold my charger, flashdrives, and other accessories. This seemed like the PERFECT combination of the two, so I gave it a shot and ordered it. I got it quickly, and it hasn't let me down yet. It's got a very soft, protecting lining in the interior so it won't scratch your computer. I carry around my laptop with a cooling pad shoved in on top of the laptop (there was a little extra room as this can fit 16" screens too) and the case stretches to conform to it. The outside zipper pocket is extremely helpful, I'm so glad I found this case, and It is very stretchy as well. It will conform to any shape of accessories you put in it without permanently stretching it out, it will always return to its original shape and size. My minimum that I have in the outside pocket is my laptop charger, it's extension cord, my wireless mouse, and a flashdrive that fits very handily in the stretchy flashdrive pocket sewn into the inside. I have fit more into the pocket tho, but that is the minimum that is always with me in the case. It is also very slim-line, and fits wonderfully in my messenger bag and backpack without taking up any unnecessary room like some cases. I bought it because I wanted a slim sleeve without giving up convenience to carry my accessories and it delivers very well for what it's supposed to do. Not as good as the old model By asteriskadonis A year ago my boyfriend got the Caselogic PAS-13 neoprene sleeve for his 13" Macbook Pro and it was awesome. The fit was perfect, it didn't scratch the laptop's corners, the bag was well-constructed and high quality, and the price was right. So when I finally upgraded my old Dell to a brand new 13" Macbook Pro, I went for the same case. The only problem: Caselogic stopped making the PAS-13 and has replaced it with this case, the PAS-213. Same difference, right? Wrong. I was seriously disappointed with this case. First, the case does not fit the 13" Macbook Pro well at all--it is too big, and the dimensions are wrong for this laptop. The case is a very loose fit on my 13" Macbook Pro, despite claiming to be made for it (believe me, it is not). Second, perhaps because the fit is not good, the zipper on the case is scratching the corners of my new Macbook Pro. Third, the construction is not as high quality; some of the stitches are already coming out after only a couple months of use. Sadly, Caselogic has replaced what used to be a wonderful product (the PAS-13) which was well-made and fit the 13" Macbook Pro like a glove with the PAS-213, which is a far inferior product. It is indeed 'black and red' as described- ie. all black with the red edging on the flap. However, it also says 'reversible for a different look'- I took this to mean it was red on the other side, but it's really gray with the red edging. My 15.6" laptop fits nicely inside. It met my expectations, but the size is a problem. Since it mentioned Macbook Pro 15" - exactly what I have, I expected it to fit smoothly . . . IT DOESN'T if you have any protective thin layer snapped onto your laptop already. It takes two of us to eventually pull it out of the sleeve and a good struggle just to get it in enough for the flap to fold over. Now buttoning it is still waiting to happen, as I'm being patient enough to hope it will stretch out perfectly someday since I do love the quality and do not want to incur shipping fees just to send it back :( 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. smells funny By sumar14 It feels a bit cheaper than it looks online. It's pretty light which tells me maybe the leather is fake. I would have given this a higher rating but the fuzzy lining inside smells terrible, kind of a fishy smell really. Its a bit gross and embarrassing even. Other than that, it'll protect your laptop, maybe even a bit more than regular sleeves because of the edges, which might provide a buffer if dropped. Hartshorn First things first: has my removable pouch been stolen? coz i can't find it. ;) Maybe it's just another amazon error in the product description. If anyone can find the removable pouch, let me know. Down to the proper review: There's no point repeating all the great features mentioned by others. You've read the other reviews: you know all about the fact that it's pretty much the only bag guaranteed to fit the large 17" laptops. In fact Dell sell it on their website as a bag that fits their 17inchers. Here's a feature no one else has mentioned so far: unlike the Columbia Cyberpack, it has a plastic [fake leather] waterproof base so u can confidently place it on a wet/messy floor. Someone mentioned the zippers not having zipper flaps to stop rain getting in. But we all know that those flaps over the zips can be awkward. I'm looking at my bag right now and i can see that there are flaps BENEATH the zipper on each side. So for rain to get in, it would have to get thru the zipper then thru the flap/ribbing directly [like 3mm] underneath. It's hard to describe what it is but it is water proof material beneath each side of the zip that closes together like drawn curtains when the zip is zippered shut. NOT MENTIONED B4: One nice visual aid is that the zippers for the main compartment are noticeably bigger than the others. Also there is an apparently flimsy handle at the back behind the main handle. It's to hang the empty/lightly filled bag up on a hook. It took me about a minute to work out what it was for. :O btw: the main handle is totally over-engineered but gorgeous: it is a very soft plastic and fabric handle surrounding a a steel wire handle which is itself coated in plastic. It's one mean looking handle. One thing, I've noticed is that one of the shoulder straps is loose around the length adjuster and i have to keep tightening it up or the one for the right shoulder keeps getting longer and longer. I'm thinking of stitching it into the desired position but because i go to the gym and have aspirations of getting an upper body like John Cena's, i fear that if i stitch the shoulder straps into the present desired position that when [not if ;)] i get huge it would no longer fit across my back and I'd have to unstitch the straps and readjust to fit around my hopefully huge back. As you can imagine: i hope i do encounter this problem. It would be a small price to pay for looking like John Cena. ;) btw: In comparison with the Columbia Cyberpack [a laptop backpack for up to 15-Inchers], that i also own, it doesn't have the Cyberpack's reflective elements useful for when walking at night. Perhaps the quick pocket [the red-lined pouch near the handle] should have been made of luminous material on it's inside [instead of the red lining] to help find things in the dark when outside. I suggest keeping a small torch inside the small pocket inside the quick pocket. The organiser/organizer panel in the front compartment elicits mixed feelings: Pros: I has two slots for credit cards. Good A good mesh pocket to hold a battery powered shaver. A good pen holding pocket. Cons: It has three pockets. good. but they are on top of each other so if you use all three it cause a bit of a bulge in the front pocket. Also, there is a clip for key rings but the thing it so short it's hard to find and a lot more awkward than what it should be. I suggest buying the "Victorinox 1679500 Army Knife Swiss Champ" to fit in the organiser panel. It has a pocket to fit it. SUMMARY OF POCKETS/COMPARTMENTS: TEN EXTERNAL COMPARTMENTS/POCKETS: U CAN SEE THEM FOR YOURSELVES. :) But you'd have to go on other websites. The pockets are great and just the right size for the bare essentials, but don't stick out when empty if you don't need to carry anything other than your laptop. The low-profile grab handle and removable shoulder strap are great--so many sleeves have neither. THe fabric and construction are beautiful--feels like I should have paid a lot more. It offers a decent amount of protection with built-in foam padding. The strap seems sturdy, with thick clips that hook to the bag. The non-slip shoulder pad is sewn, so it won't move around on the strap. The only negative(if you see it that way) is that it doesn't offer alot of space for other items. It does have pockets for items such as iPods, mice, and power, but its seems impractical to use them (at least at the same time). My Apple power supply takes up most of the space, with some room left over for my video adapters and miscellaneous stuff. However, this isn't a weakness to me, because that's what I wanted. It fits my 13 inch Macbook just perfectly. The front pockets have enough room for the dongles I usually carry around, i.e. HDMI and VGA adapter, ethernet cable, power cord and other small accessories. Notice that the bag is designed exclusively for your laptop, it'll be really uncomfortable to try to fit extra stuff. It has a nice design, which looks professional and modern. I actually carry my computer around very little, and the bag isn't meant for heavy duty use. It has little padding and it won't cushion your device if it free falls. With Russell McFarlane When I bought this on-line my reason that it looked hip, and that (as I thought) a sort of tribal design had been. I had to, in Macstore where all these covers in vibrant colors and blooming monkey faces looked tired at them, I'm not a metrosexual! However, upon receipt, you realize the design is much more "flowery", it looks on screen, go, yes, my next purchase, a pair of glasses to be better. It's really not fussy just a warning to other guys who are not cruising Tommy Bahama and all the other metro ballocks. My only concern is that I wonder about the upholstery. I discovered the hard way with my computer in 5 years to put it in a suitcase on his way to Boston airport is not a good idea, cracked screen! It covers the Apple Store (with the Monkey faces) all seemed to have more padding, I took this on a flight recently to Los Angeles and my wee MacBook was fine .... Mah INTRO disappointed I saw was an STM neoprene sleeve for my old 15 "MacBook Pro (which I threw in the laptop compartment of my backpack Oakley), and while there is great and fits tight, I found that below. .. difficult conditions such as jam-packed with my backpack (my job requires me to carry around a lot with it) ... that the zipper would be a little (it somehow found its way through the "inner lips "guard) is so small scratches on the MBP and all neoprene sleeves, it could not be prevented from buckling when have something solid in the middle of a difficult time. since bought a new unibody 13" MBP to replace the old laptop, I was on one sleeve, a tender look that could be a little more protection. I have a lot of research and decided to take the plunge into LArobe "Moka". Here's my take: Pros + nice design ... t But I found an elegant sleeve of the control + More (Isis Dei has some nice sleeves) cheaper than comparable handles + memory foam is thicker than the neoprene .. looks like it can take more hits, scratches and even prevent some minor irregularities + zippers are on the fingers for a secure grip + a contoured handle little easier (vs neoprene) when you only handle CONS - very disappointed Sustainability on the outside. The sides of my neck has some wear straight out of the box (white thread ran under the brown layer on the sides) are shown. I suspect that the brown is really going on with the times and fade. Never had this problem since two years with my neoprene sleeve. -. Not a perfect fit for the 13 "unibody MacBook / Pro There is very little space to both the width and height of maneuver and can I use the laptop at home in the sleeve slide This is not a big deal, except '. The inside of the base is smooth with something (like the Incase sleeves) is lined. It's the same material as the outside..so a bit course and rigid. It's still fabric so I don't think it'll scratch my MBP but I'd feel better if there was a softer lining. - The "inner lip" guard doesn't seal shut when the sleeve is completely zipped up...especially at the top of the sleeve. If the zippers on my old neoprene sleeve could get through the inner lip when sealed, then I'd think the same would be even more likely here. I've since made a point to have both zipper tabs resting on one side of the sleeve (where the seal is the tightest). CONCLUSION Overall this is still a decent sleeve. The memory foam does offer more protection against scratches and small drops from your typical neoprene sleeve. I was all ready to give this sleeve a 4/5 because I knew it wasn't going to be a perfect fit for my MBP (keep in mind, there are very few cases right now that are made specifically for the new 13" unibodies) but the lack of a proper zipper seal and surprisingly shoddy exterior quality really killed my enthusiasm for the LArobe I'll still be using the case since I almost always throw it in a backpack with a padded laptop compartment but I'll probably replace it as soon as I feel like dropping $30+ for a better alternative. Having bought a new unibody 13" MBP to replace the old laptop, I was looking for a sleeve that could offer a little more protection. I did a lot of research and decided to take the plunge on the LArobe "Moka". Here's my take: PROS + Nice design...t though I've found more stylish sleeves since ordering (Isis Dei has some nice sleeves) + More affordable than comparable sleeves + Memory foam is thicker than neoprene..looks like it can take more hits to prevent scratches and even a few minor dents + Zippers are contoured to your fingers for easy grip + A little easier to handle (vs neoprene) if you're using just the sleeve CONS - REALLY disappointed in the exterior durability. The sides of my sleeve already showed some wear straight out of the packaging (white threading popped out from under the brown layer around the sides). I suspect that the brown will really fade over time and use. Never had that problem for the 2 years with my neoprene sleeve. - Not a perfect fit for the 13" unibody MacBook/Pros. There is just a little bit of wiggle room both width and height-wise and I can feel the laptop sliding in the sleeve. This wouldn't be a big deal except the inside of the sleeve isn't lined with anything soft (like the Incase sleeves). It's the same material as the outside..so a bit course and rigid. It's still fabric so I don't think it'll scratch my MBP but I'd feel better if there was a softer lining. - The "inner lip" guard doesn't seal shut when the sleeve is completely zipped up...especially at the top of the sleeve. If the zippers on my old neoprene sleeve could get through the inner lip when sealed, then I'd think the same would be even more likely here. I've since made a point to have both zipper tabs resting on one side of the sleeve (where the seal is the tightest). CONCLUSION Overall this is still a decent sleeve. The memory foam does offer more protection against scratches and small drops from your typical neoprene sleeve. I was all ready to give this sleeve a 4/5 because I knew it wasn't going to be a perfect fit for my MBP (keep in mind, there are very few cases right now that are made specifically for the new 13" unibodies) but the lack of a proper zipper seal and surprisingly shoddy exterior quality really killed my enthusiasm for the LArobe I'll still be using the case since I almost always throw it in a backpack with a padded laptop compartment but I'll probably replace it as soon as I feel like dropping $30+ for a better alternative. Colonna Before I go into more details about this case Note: This case is the exact dimensions specified by the manufacturer and will not accept a laptop is larger than the specified 13 to 14.1 inches. I am a college student and I had a big backpack Targus before this, and it was too big for my needs each day. When I got this bag I was very surprised how light it actually was the construction is great. The straps are well padded and the back of the bag is also padded his back as well. One of the bands have a bag of rubber bands to hold small objects, like a pack of gum or keys or whatever. It is easy to see, however, and is flush with the surface of the strap when not in use. In so far as storage goes. You want a bag that protects your notebook, but doesn't look like a laptop bag. You want something that has space for cables, documents, mobile etc, but doesn't look bulky and cluttered. Perfect bag for the new MacBook from Lord Summation Risle I have a functional, durable bag is needed for my new MacBook: STM Small Alley Case is well made and a perfect fit to your computer and it has several pockets for my external mouse and power have brick and cord. It also has a pair of document size bags (front and back) that hold a small paperback or a few files. And although I am not inclined to use it, the bag comes with a small removable Velcro cell phone / mouse pocket on shoulder strap. I like the vertical configuration, and the laptop bag seems appropriate padding. Solid construction, sturdy nylon zippers, great color (I have carbon). Beautiful and should last a while. If you have a sturdy bag that fits the MacBook and has studied the basics, it's worth a visit. Note: The Alley will take on a larger format to 15-inch laptops. And no matter what the description says the product's pockets are not wide network (which I am not a fan) - is made from the same resilient material as the rest of the bag 28 out of 30 people found this review helpful. Great bag ... If you do not take the rain I had ZJ With this bag for 4 months. This is a cute bag, and also has a pretty small and lightweight design. It fits my laptop, power chords, notebooks and mouse without looking too thick or stuffed. Actually, I loved this bag until one day ... It's a rainy day. I packed my laptop as usual, came out believing that all would be safe and secure. But if you look closely, the flap that swings over the top is not made to wrap around the edges. There is a gap angle of about half an inch on both sides of the aquifer that provides direct access to your notebook. Diving my laptop - small velcro! Early Dennis Chang Yup, the Velcro on my STM Alley enough, and distributed more than a few times, my "slippery" aluminum MacBook just want to find yourself on. This usually happens when the bag on a seat in my car in the trunk, or even if the bag is inverted in the library, by releasing the Macbook diffusion across the tile floor. And of course there a few times I did it outside and was surprised by a light rain hit - the water flows directly into the laptop. All that said, I like to buy the bag design and usability, and probably a whole other bag of the STM in the future - just a different design (buckle is preferred). The Case Logic website has a list of every netbook model that fits inside the sleeve. I have an Acer Aspire One with 6-cell battery (which is a wart on the back of the computer where the battery sticking out) and it fits almost perfectly with these sleeves. Nothing else fits into the main compartment. The padding is very nice, just right, not too much or too little. It feels very good in the hand. It is a ingeneous zipper on the front of this sleeve. There is a slot for USB devices - usually a USB flash drive, but also some short USB cable would fit here. Acer A / C adapter fits into the outer bag, but you end up with a very lumpy sleeve (a large bulge where you slid the adapter. Of course, this has the nasty old vinyl / neoprene smell disappears after a few days, you should turn it upside down and air, in a sunny location. As a race - and it is important that you know that there is a sleeve, not a PC case - this is a nice protector. You can easily throw it into a large bag for PC or hand luggage, and do not be afraid that your computer will be scratched or damaged. It is not the papers, hard drives, cell phones, etc. Only the computers and a USB stick. My example is black. The charcoal-gray accents is very pleasant to watch. 6th March 2011 Update - iPads fit in the round. I have my iPad for the past year under his sleeve. In the absence of coverage on the iPad the unit is loose inside. I used a blanket and DodoCase Incase book style for a while, and both of them in this bag nice and comfortable fit. I am now using a silicone case is based Amazon, which covers only the back of the iPad. Silicon is the material of the socket blocks, so it's a bit 'harder to slip in and out IPAD But once again, the iPad will not move inside the sleeve. I got my MacBook 13''Pro and fits perfectly. It 'softer than the others I looked at it and inserts the bag is a great advantage. It stretches to keep things in great shape of the extension cable of the charger chargers, flash drives, CDs and more.
